This is a very shallow monster,
a very weak monster,
a most poor credulous monster,
a most perfidious and drunken monster!
This puppy-headed monster . . . most scurvy!
An abominable monster,
a most ridiculous monster,
a howling monster, a drunken monster!
O brave monster!
Thou wert but a lost monster.

I love this.
As a psychotherapist, I think that about half of my job is trying to help people (myself included)find some humor and compassion towards their monsters. Sometimes I think it might help if we dressed them up in patterned button down shirts, tucked into their little monster pants, monster hair plastered down like fidgety six year olds being sent off to their first day of school.
Oh, the puppy-headed monsters!
I tend not to share these thoughts with my clients.
Come to think of it, do you think Maurice Sendak read "The Tempest"?
